My Story

A woman with gray hair and glasses sitting on a small chair in a shallow river, with trees and blue sky in the background.

The Saltbox Silversmith Studio is a tiny two story Saltbox in the North Woods of Northeastern Maine on the Canadian border where I’m frequently visited by black bears, bald eagles, moose, foxes, deer and all kinds of Maine woods wildlife!

I recycle sterling silver (and karat gold) that has lived a past life with a history of its own. Your piece will likely have been a cowboy belt buckle, boot tip, saddle bag hardware etc.

Each piece is individually hand crafted and gets a river blessing dip in a waterfall on the Meduxnekeag River, which runs near the studio and ultimately joins the St. John River in New Brunswick, Canada. I believe handmade art carries with it the spirit of the place in which it is made and this is my way of sending extra good juju to you!

I developed my silversmithing skills at Bear Canyon School of Art in Bozeman, Montana in 2004 and have been featured in Cowboys and Indians, Cowgirl, “Yellowstone” season 5 and the C.M. Russell Museum Exhibition and Auction Catalogues in Great Falls Montana.

Watch for my work and model Heather Moore Lambert on season 5 of “YELLOWSTONE”!
